What is Ground Zero Performance?

Ground Zero Performance (GZP) is coaching designed for females, surrounding education on functional movements patterns and building sustainable habits. I offer 1:1 coaching, online programming, facilitated wellbeing and movement workshops, and group training. I encompass a holistic approach with the intent to provide individuals the skills and knowledge surrounding individual wellbeing and performance.

 

Meet Madeline.

 

Hi there, I am Madeline Walt the founder of Ground Zero Performance.

I am a Qualified Coach and have completed a Level 4 Certificate in Personal Training as well as a Bachelor of Sports Coaching at the University of Canterbury (Majors - Sports Science & Physical Education, Minor - Nutrition).

I have had a total of 8 years experience in the fitness industry working in a variety of settings. Throughout my studies and experience coaching, I have identified consistent patterns with females in sport and training. I am passionate about the development of females, providing them with the tools to grow their confidence inside and outside of the gym.

I want to be able to support as many women as I can by giving them the skills to be able to train smart, create sustainable habits and make positive decisions that will support their health and wellbeing long term.

my WHY…

Movement has always been a significant part of my life. I grew up playing a variety of sports and could recognise that school is an environment where sport is structured, and most resources are available to you.

After leaving school, I was unsure on what movement looked like for me and I was afraid of the gym as I had no idea what to do. Most of the information I was receiving around exercise was from social media. I began running as I wanted to “burn calories” and this is where my love for exercise began. As my confidence grew I stepped into the gym, hiring a coach and completing my study in personal training and continuing this at the University of Canterbury.

As a female, I can acknowledge and identify the challenges and difficulties we can experience when it comes to sport and training. Multiple studies have demonstrated the decrease in physical participation in New Zealand’s young females and beyond. I want to support young women in identifying the way they like to move and support them in finding their WHY.

I want to see females happy in their skin and continuing to move their bodies in a safe and beneficial way. I am here to offer you specialist hands on, evidence based coaching to support you in achieving your goals.
